What is Ambient Security?
Imagine:
You’re the IT Security Director at a large fintech company. Your team manages hundreds of privileged identities across cloud platforms, internal systems, and third-party applications. One day, you receive an urgent alert: a former DevOps engineer’s account—one that should have been deactivated years ago—was used to access sensitive financial data. Worse, the account still has admin-level privileges.
Your company now faces the risk of millions in damages from potential data breaches, compliance violations, and reputational harm.
Ambient Security is a 2-year-old startup that addresses such problems. They aim to mitigate the risk of privilege account takeovers.
What I did
As the sole designer, I worked on a variety of features whose primary aim were to clearly show the amount of risk within a system. I did this by doing a visual revamp of the data interfaces and introducing graphing elements into the app, including a Click-to-Reveal Findings feature that shows account severity.
As a result, major contract deals were signed.
